Local Clinton supporters: Get ready for Hillary, Athens!
Are you ready for Hillary, Athens?
Local suppoers of Hillary Clinton — the former Secretary of State, U.S. Senator and first lady — will meet at Baker University Center on Monday for an "organizing meeting" headlined by a representative from Ready for Hillary, a funding PAC formed that is not affiliated with Clinton, wife of former President Bill Clinton.
Ready for Hillary, with over one million supporters and more than 25,000 grassroots donors, is encouraging the former Secretary of State to run for president in 2016.
The meeting is to be headlined by Ready for Hillary’s National Communications Director Seth Bringman, an Ohio native who served as Ohio Democratic Party Communications Director and was an advisor to Ohio Sen. Lou Gentile during the 2012 campaign.
"Ready for Hillary is assembling an army of grassroots supporters and sending a message that if she is ready to run for president, we are ready to support her," reads the banner at the bottom of a press release. "We believe Hillary Clinton is the best qualified person to be president in 2016 and that her historic election would build upon the progress of President Obama and continue to lead this country into the future."
The event marks the first official gathering of Southeast Ohio Hillary 2016 supporters and a kickoff of area efforts to encourage Hillary to run.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Monday in Baker 231.
